The Christmas Cheer & The Writing Blues

I was dreading Christmas this year. I don't mind all the other holidays, but Christmas usually sucks. Maybe it's because now I'm older the excitement of waking up Christmas morning has gone. Maybe it's because the last few years have been icy and slushy and very, very cold. This year, however, I really had a good time. I spent it with my family and it was really good - no arguments, no stress, just a bunch of us enjoying good food and champagne. :o)

But now the thrill of Christmas is over and the New Year is looming, I'm trying to get back into my wip and its so much harder than I thought it would be. I've read so many amazing books over the holidays, all Christmas stories and all of which were amazing. I feel my story is paling in comparison and its making it harder to get back into writing. Hopefully after the New Year, I'll find my muse but for now, I'm not going to worry too much about it and enjoy the rest of the holidays.

Hope the holidays are going well for you all!

  1. I'm glad you had a great xmas, I agree that it sometimes does suck!

Good luck with the WIP, I'm also trying to get back into mine after leaving it for the entire festive period! We'll get there... :-)

  2. I still haven't got back to it! But I'm going to make the effort this week.

Well done on your challenge by the way! I could never have read a book every day for a whole year as well as find the time to review them!
